Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sheriff's Office has taken measures to minimize contact with the public and help ensure social distancing. As of March 17, we have halted fingerprint services for the public until the situation is over. This does not include mandatory fingerprinting when a person is arrested, nor does it mean that we will not be enforcing the laws and arresting criminals. We will also be halting the release of property from evidence. While we regret the need for these steps, we feel that it is important to limit contact. By halting these non-essential services, we hope to minimize exposure for our employees and citizens, alike.
We have also implemented an online reporting system for minor offenses. If the amount of loss is less than $2,500, and is one of the following offenses, you can go to our online reporting page and file a report there.
- Credit/Debit Card Abuse
- Criminal Mischief (Vandalism)
- Forgery
- Harassment
- Identity Theft
- Lost Property
- Theft
- Theft FROM a vehicle (NOT theft OF a vehicle)
- Threats
A Deputy or Investigator, barring unforeseen circumstances, will get back with you within 2 business days with a case number. We have implemented this new reporting system to help limit contact and help make it more convenient for our citizens to file reports. This may be temporary, depending on the results. As this is a new process for us, please bear with us.
