The 465th District Court was created in 2023 to serve the growing population of Bastrop County as its latest addition to the existing courts. The 465th currently hears the majority of family law cases in the county, including divorces, child custody matters, adoptions, and name changes. This Court will also hear non-family civil matters. The 465th District Court only hears cases that arise within Bastrop County.

Self-Represented Litigants in Divorce or other Family Suits:
Self-Represented Litigants must file a Prove-Up Affidavit and an Agreed Final Decree or Agreed Final Order, signed by all parties. Weddings:
District judges are permitted to perform weddings. For a nominal fee, Judge Beyer would be honored to officiate your wedding ceremony and participate in your special day. Judge Beyer performs wedding ceremonies Monday through Friday at the Bastrop County Courthouse, during normal business hours; evening and weekend availability upon request. Contact the Court Coordinator for scheduling information; please let the Coordinator know if you have any special requests for vows, etc.
A marriage license is required and can be purchased at least 72 hours prior to the ceremony unless a waiver is obtained. District Judges do have the authority to waive the 72-hour waiting period. Once the marriage license has been purchased, the wedding must be performed within 89 days. The County Clerk issues the licenses at 804 Pecan Street in Bastrop.
