Ozone Action Day Declared for Friday, Sept. 23, 2022

by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality(TCEQ)

The area affected by this Ozone Action Day notice covers the Central Texas region of Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson Counties.

An Ozone Action Day is called when the TCEQ has forecasted that air quality in our region will be unhealthy for sensitive groups.The Air Quality Index is projected to go over 101 (Orange on the Air Quality Scale below). Individuals with chronic lung disease, such as asthma and emphysema, as well as older populations and young children, are particularly sensitive to ozone and should attempt to avoid exposure by minimizing exertion outdoors.
