Street Name Checker Tool

In order to avoid confusion and facilitate the best possible emergency service response, any new street name may not duplicate, including phonetically, the name of an existing street within the county boundary or same postal community. The County provides the below Street Name Checker Tool to help subdivision plat applicants research a desired street name, prior to requesting County review and consideration. This Tool checks the proposed name against existing streets, including sound-alike words, found in the county-wide GIS road database. This Tool is merely the first of several steps in the street name review process. The Address Assignment Division of the County's Development Service Department will conduct additional research prior to determining if a proposed street name is acceptable, not recommended, or must be rejected.

Street Name Checker Tool:
Instructions: Enter the base street name, then click the Search icon. Street names that might be deemed a duplication will display. Note, the base street name is the street name minus the street type (i.e.: Avenue, Drive, Cove, etc.) and any prefix/postfix directional (i.e.: North, South, etc.). Example, if the desired name is "North Nena Street" the base name is "Nena".
