Bastrop County's Wireless Communications System is a Motorola P25 800 MHz Radio System which has been in service since 2010. In cooperation with the City of Austin and the COPS 2007 Grant, Bastrop County joined the Great Austin/Travis County Regional Radio System. This system upgrade has already brought hundreds of new subscriber radios to Bastrop County's Public Safety and Public Works Professionals. The Bastrop County radio system allows Police, Fire, and EMS and others to talk person to person from their handheld radio from each of the following counties: Caldwell, Bastrop, Lee, Travis, and Williamson Counties along with many others that are being added to the Great Austin/Travis County Regional Radio System.
