Bastrop County OEM works with the Commissioner's Court to review compliance reports from Guardian EMS, our contracted private EMS Provider. Guardian EMS is under their second contract with Bastrop County which makes them the exclusive provider of Emergency & Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Services for Bastrop County and the Cities of Bastrop, Elgin, and Smithville, Texas to the extent provided under Texas laws.
Guardian EMS provides several MICU ambulances to Bastrop County for emergency & non-emergency transportation services. In addition, their diversity allows them to provide training as well as BLS & ALS non-emergency services to various agencies in the county. Bastrop County OEM also works with the Bastrop County First Responder Association, Elgin Fire Department First Responders, Smithville Fire Department, and Five Points Fire Department as a liaison between the County and their agencies.
