About the 423rd District Court

District Courts are the trial courts of general jurisdiction in the State of Texas. District Courts have original jurisdiction in cases involving matters such as felony criminal, divorce, real property, election contest, civil matters where damages exceed $200.00, and any other matters brought properly before the Court. While some District Courts serve multiple counties, the 423rd District Court only hears matters that arise within Bastrop County.  Judge Duggan hears all matters that come properly before the 423rd District Court in Bastrop County.
