Propane Tanks

LARGE TANKS:

If there is no apparent damage to propane tank or system, DO NOT attempt to resume propane service to your home yourself due to possible heat or large vehicle damage.  Call your current propane supplier for an inspection and testing of the tank and system and re-establishment of propane service.

If there is known or suspected damage to your propane system, DO NOT attempt to resume propane service.  Call your current propane supplier for an inspection of the tank and system and a consultation about the best resolution of the damaged equipment.  DO NOT attempt to repair or reuse fire-damaged propane tanks without an inspection by and/or consultation with a licensed propane professional.

SMALL PROPANE TANKS (grill and camper types):

Propane cylinders subjected to fire are required to be inspected and requalified or permanently removed from service.  Cylinders showing obvious fire damage such as melted valves, distortion or bulging of the cylinder must be removed from service.
