Public Health Advisory

The Bastrop County Public Health Official, Dr. Desmar Walkes, has asked all residents to be diligent in washing hands before and after all activities and showering after all activity where there may be dust involved.

Additionally, Dr. Walkes has asked residents to wear appropriate, recommended protective equipment, such as goggles, work gloves, long pants and watertight boots (with steel toe and insole), when working in the affected areas.  These protections will help avoid skin contact with unhealthy materials.

These measures are very important, especially in areas where work is being performed on restoring water and wastewater services.
